In an era marked by racial inequality of the early 70's, the Theta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha was chartered on the campus of Jarvis Christian College February 23, 1972.

In an effort to best serve the development of the campus male at large, the 376th chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha was  charted by in 1972 by members better known as the "Striving 4."

Today, more than 45 years later, we continue our strides as campus and community leaders. We exemplify philanthropy, social awareness and an unquenched thirst for professional growth. As men of Alpha, we hold fast to our fraternal precepts: Manly deeds, scholarship and love for all mankind. 

We are the mighty 376th House of Alpha located at Jarvis Christian College, in Hawkins, Texas. The Theta Alpha chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. has worked hard in and around the community and campus to uphold the aims of our dear fraternity since it's founding at Jarvis in 1972.

 

Throughout the year we execute the three national programs of Alpha: 

Project Alpha

A Voteless People is a Hopeless People

and Go-To-High School, Go-To-College
